But despite the entire Bulgarian coast,
there are still places in which you can find
calmness and coziness. And though they are
very small, they are unique, authentic and
offer a vacation that only the sea can
bring.
One of the really few places
reserved for our coast is the
village of Krapets. It is only 10
kilometers from Shabla and 90 from
Varna. It is situated by the sea
itself, near the end of the
international road E87. The area is
clean and the beach between Krepets
and Durankulak is 6 kilometers. It
is unique in its kind - it has no
hotels and countless restaurants,
the sea is clean and nice, the
bottom is soft sand. Everything is
quiet, calm, with the aroma of the
sea and relaxation.

Just a kilometer from the village is
located Durankulak Lake. It is extremely
attractive place for lovers of fishing -
there are plenty of white fish, carp,
catfish, crabs, and some very rare species.
Only sand dunes and the beach so divided
from the sea. In the lake there is a large
island, which is the temple of Kibela - one
of the largest prehistoric necropolises in
the world, aged about two thousand five
hundred years. And nearby are the remains of
the largest and oldest Neolithic settlement
across continental Europe - from 5250 - 3800
BC. All archaeological finds are located in
the museum in the town of Dobrich.

In a similar
origin are Durankulak Lake, Shabla
and Ezereshko lakes located in the
south, near the village of Krapets.
The two lakes are linked by an
artificial channel. These two lakes
are visited by different bird
species, especially ibises. They,
along with Durankulak are some of
the most important parts of the Via
Pontica - one of the main routes of
migratory birds in Europe. Lakes are
used for domestic water needs,
fisheries, agricultural irrigation,
grazing domestic animals. After the
Shabla lake is the oldest lighthouse
on the Black Sea, a fishing village
to Cape Shabla. Close you can see
the remains of a Byzantine fortress
from the 4th century and found in
the ruins can be seen in the
cultural home of Shabla. In the area
of the village Krapets has numerous
Thracian mounds. |
On May 24 there is a
great holiday - the village has many songs,
dances - quite a good congregation.
Despite the lack of large hotels, this place
has to provide accommodation. Currently there are
several small hotels, villas and
houses for accommodation. Krapets cuisine is
also unique - this is the best fish soup
prepared from 3 - 4 types of fish. |
 |
We can only dream to have more places like
village Krapets - preserving the vision, lifestyle
and atmosphere of maritime fishing village.
Krapets village and resort village, but the
resort in another sense - no night clubs,
spa, shopping malls and fun-fairs - just a
great place to vacation - close to the sea
and the nature.
