For the first time in 10 years, hotel owners in the spa resort of Hissar can brag the high number of Russian tourists, Monitor daily reported.

Some tourists book their stay before the beginning of the Christmas festivities. Alongside Russians, Israelis form another major group of tourists in Hissar.

Most of these visitors will also celebrate New Year’s Eve in Bulgaria.

Hissar mayor Georgi Piriankov said that the establishment of the regular Moscow-Plovdiv-Moscow airline is expected to bring up the number of Russian tourists, since Hissar is situated very close to the city of Plovdiv.
